Job description

We are looking for an Electronics Design Engineer to join us in the development of new imaging products.  The work will involve input into the complete design cycle from part selection, design, schematic entry, PCB layout and testing. The small design team and niche field you would be joining ensures a varied and rewarding opportunity.

Atik Cameras is the leading European brand of cooled CCD cameras for amateur astronomers, and also supplies OEM customers serving the life sciences field. We have achieved this position by offering innovative camera designs which deliver high-quality images in a cost-effective way.  Artemis  CCD Ltd is part of the Scientific Digital Imaging (SDI) group. It designs imaging hardware and software used by other SDI companies and is sold to astronomers as the Atik Cameras range.

Job requirements

You will need a degree or equivalent experience, be highly motivated, have expertise in product electronic design and have a can-do attitude.

Experience with the following would be advantageous:

•         Analogue design, especially with regard to low noise solutions
•         Design to meet EMC requirements for low voltage equipment
•         Microprocessors and embedded programming in C++ and assembler
•         Programmable logic including FGPA and CPLD design
•         High speed USB design
•         Charge coupled devices (CCD) and CMOS sensors

An interest in astronomy or experience of research in life science would be welcome.
