Atik 2017 Astrophotography Competition (Closed)

View entries

Once again, we’re delighted to open the competition, a great opportunity to share your incredible images taken with the Atik community.

All the entries are displayed in our gallery and appear on a rolling basis across the website. A selection of the images will be also shared on our social media profiles where we talk to a huge community of people that are passionate about astrophotography, as well as in our adverts and other parts of our publicity.

You can submit as many images as you like up until the deadline of 4pm on 22rd January 2018. The key condition is that the image must be taken with an Atik or Artemis CCD camera as the main imaging camera. We’re also asking this year that you don’t submit images that have been entered into our previous competitions.

We review all submissions before they go live, so don’t worry if your entry doesn’t appear in our gallery straight away. If you think there’s been a problem with your submission, feel free to contact us.

The winning prize this year is a brand new Atik Horizon CMOS camera and a fantastic stay in Les Granges(*). This is definitely one worth entering for!

Les Granges is a well known astronomy holiday venue run by Olly and Monique Penrice. At 900 metres altitude in Haute Provence, SE France, it enjoys skies which can reach SQM22. As well as being home to two visual and two imaging observatories available to guests it offers prepared sites for visiting setups. The ‘in house’ imaging rigs are both built on Mesu 200 roller drive mounts carrying a dual Takahashi FSQ106 ‘tandem’ in one case and a TEC140 Apo in the other. Needless to say the cameras are all Atik, currently 2x 11000 and 1x 460, all monochrome. More details in www.sunstarfrance.com
