Can I edit the Windows Registry?

By Lewis Brown on

We strongly advise avoiding the use of Windows Registry Cleaning software, or attempting to edit the registry  manually. The use of such software, effectively means that you are left with a unique installation of the operating system. Important registry keys can either be missing, or left in an abnormal state over what would normally be present after a traditional application uninstall. Unfortunately, this can lead to many unexpected consequences such as us being unable to replicate, and therefore troubleshoot, reported software issues.

In this situation, the only workable solution may be to completely reinstall Windows, please consider this information before attempting to modify the Windows Registry.
