Atik Cameras Software Packages

Core Software – Windows

Our core software for Windows includes everything you need to operate your Atik Camera through our control programs or a third-party program.

Please note, if you are upgrading from 4.2.2.9 it may be best to uninstall before installing the latest version.

SDK

All you need to integrate our cameras into your Windows (x86, x86-64), Linux (x86, x86-64, ARM, ARM64) and macOS (Apple silicon) applications.

Below you can find a wrapper for our C/C++ SDK. Includes a Windows (x86-64) prerequisite installer (for all other platforms please download the C/C++ SDK and follow instructions for installation):

Download Python SDK

You can find the SDK change log here.

Demo Application

A demo application to evaluate an Atik Camera on Windows 10/11 (x86-64).

Legacy Software – Archive

Below you’ll find an older version of our core software for windows, troubleshooting instructions and also drivers and plugins that are not included in the most recent versions (EFW1 Filter Wheel, MaxIm Plugin and AstroArt Plugin).

Core Software – Legacy version

We recommend that you install the most recent versions of our core software, found on the top of this page. If you wish to return to a legacy version , please download the following installer:

In the list of ‘Additional Components’ you must select ‘Drivers’ (and ‘Infinity’ if using Infinity). NOTE: When going back to the old software, you must keep the camera plugged in. This is different to installing the new drivers, where the camera must be disconnected.

EFW1 Filter Wheel

The drivers for the EFW1 Filter Wheel have been removed from the core software installer. You can still download them from here:

MaxIm Plugin

The MaxIm plugin has been removed from the installer. It is recommended that you use ASCOM instead. However, you can download the plugin below. You will need to copy the files into the MaxIm directory in program files (Usually C:\Program Files (x86)\Diffraction Limited\MaxIm DL Vx)

AstroArt Plugin

The AstroArt plugin has been removed from the installer. It is recommended that you use ASCOM instead. However, you can download the plugin below. You will need to copy the files into the AstroArt directory in program files (Usually C:\Program Files (x86)\Astroart).

Troubleshooting – Camera Not Connecting

If the camera does not connect to the software, the most likely cause is that the drivers haven’t updated properly.

To fix this:

  1. Click on the start button, then find ‘Artemis CCD’ in the list of ‘all programs’ (Windows 7) or ‘all apps’ (Windows 10).
  2. In there should be a ‘Drivers’ option. This will open a folder which contains another folder labelled ‘32bit’ or ‘64bit’, depending on your operating system. In there will be a file called ‘OldDrivers’.
  3. Make sure your camera is plugged in! (This is different to when you install the new drivers, where the camera must be disconnected).
  4. Double click the ‘OldDrivers’ file.
  5. Select ‘Yes’ when prompted. Then follow the ‘Device Driver Installation Wizard’ instructions.
