New Atik Drivers – BETA release

By Jo on

PLEASE NOTE: BETA testing has ended and the newest drivers are included as part of our Core Software Download.

We’ve updated our drivers and DLL to improve camera stability and pave the way for improved 64-bit and cross-platform support. Before we carry on towards a full release of these new drivers, we’d like to perform a BETA test to ensure everything is working as it should be. We’d be really grateful to anyone who’d like to test out the BETA version of these drivers and provide us with any feedback on their performance.

Go to Core Software Download

Installation instructions are included below

Please note: The new drivers don’t currently support the Atik One Cameras or 16, 16IC or 16HR cameras – please do not install the drivers if you are using one of these cameras.

Please feel free to email feedback to us at contact@atik-cameras.com – even if the drivers work perfectly and there’s no noticeable difference in performance that would be really helpful to know, as well as if you encounter any issues, of course. You can also use the comments section below, or get in touch with us on social media if you’d prefer.

We’d like to thank you in advance for doing this, we appreciate all the feedback you give us and use it to constantly improve what we do.

Installing the BETA version

  • Disconnect the camera before installing the new drivers
  • Select ‘Drivers’ from the list of ‘Additional Components’
  • If using Infinity, you will also need to select ‘Infinity’ from the list of ‘Additional Components’

Troubleshooting

Camera Not Connecting: If the camera does not connect to the software, the most likely cause is that the drivers haven’t updated properly. To fix this, click the start button, then find ‘Artemis CCD’ in the list of ‘all programs’ (Windows 7) or ‘all apps’ (Windows 10). In there should be a ‘Drivers’ option. This will open a folder which contains another folder labelled ‘32bit’ or ‘64bit’ depending on your operating system. In there will be a file called ‘NewDrivers’. Make sure your camera is unplugged, then double click the ‘NewDrivers’ file. Select ‘Yes’ when prompted. Then follow the ‘Device Driver Installation Wizard’ instructions.

Reverting Back to the Current Version

If you wish to return to the previous version of the software, it is best to download the latest version of the core software from the website as this will install the old drivers. In the list of ‘Additional Components’ you must select ‘Drivers’ (and ‘Infinity’ if using Infinity).

NOTE: When going back to the old software, you must keep the camera plugged in. This is different to installing the new drivers, where the camera must be disconnected.
