Sony CCD Sensor Production

As you might have heard, Sony recently announced that they were planning to end production of their CCD sensors to concentrate on CMOS sensors. We are aware this has to lead to some speculation over the future of Atik cameras containing these sensors. We didn’t want to speculate further until we had full information available to us, and, now that we do, we can officially say that production of these sensors is guaranteed until 2026.

This means we can keep making the cameras you know and love with the highest quality sensors available to us. The last ten years have been an incredible journey for Atik, and we’re happily planning the next ten.
