Holiday Closure

By Amy Barton on

As 2020 draws to an end, we can all agree there hasn’t been a year quite like it. Like so many of you, we will appreciate our festive break a little more this year.

The office, and subsequently all communication channels, will be closing at 12:00 (GMT) on 24th December, and reopen at 09:00 (GMT) on 4th January 2021. If you have an issue during this time, please continue to get in touch through our contact page. As always, we will keep a watchful eye on our support channels through this holiday period, and will get to your enquiry as soon as possible. Thank you in advance for your patience.

As we’re still distancing, we can’t show you our annual festive group picture, but we can take a look back at what has been an extraordinary year….

2019 competition winners

Once again we had the difficult task of choosing a winner from the enormous amount of exceptional astro images sent to us throughout 2019. Finally Jonathan Fertil’s image of the Antennae Galaxy was chosen, and Jonathan received an Atik 16200.

Astrofest

Astrofest 2020 turned out to be our only show of the year, but we had an amazing time.

New facilities

Our production manager Rui Tripa moved our entire production facilities to bigger premises in a miracle turn around time.

Our scientific cameras used in qPCR Covid testing units

We moved to bigger production facilities just in time, as no one could have predicted the global crisis that happened next. Read here how our scientific cameras are used in qPCR Covid testing units, currently responsible for thousands of tests per day.

Apx60 back in development

Development of our camera utilising the IMX455 sensor finally resumed! The camera we were so exited to bring you needed to be put on hold as our qPCR testing cameras took a priority. Finally the Apx60 is back in development and due out in Spring of next year.

Offers, Webinars and Whitepapers

As we were unable to meet you at the trade shows, we ran a series of offers for our astrophotography audience, and a series of webinars and whitepapers for our OEM audience, which are still available online here.

To look forward to

Along with the hope of normality, we are looking forward to a year of producing innovative new products. Keep an eye to our website and social media channels to find out more.

Only one thing left to say….

We have truly appreciated your continued support over the last challenging 12 months. As we hope for a more normal 2021, we offer you warmest wishes over the holiday season… and a happy, healthy new year.

Stay safe!
