Happy Holidays

Following another eventful year at Atik Cameras, the Christmas period once again provides us with an opportunity to take a break. This year, we’ll be closing the offices at 16:00 (GMT) on Tuesday 24th December before reopening at 08:30 (GMT) on Thursday 2nd January 2020. As always, we will be checking in from time to time over the Christmas period, so if you do have an enquiry please be patient and we will get to it as soon as possible.

Please send all of your regular enquiries to contact@atik-cameras.com and all of your technical support enquiries to support@atik-cameras.com throughout this period.

As some our sales and R&D team members pictured below show, we are truly in the spirit of the season and hope that you all have a wonderful time over the festive period.

Reviewing 2019

As is tradition, we began the year with the culmination of the 2018 astrophotography competition with a winner being crowned in February 2019. The winner was Jean-Baptiste Auroux for the below image of the Leo Trio – M65, M66 and NGC3628 with tidal trail. Despite describing himself as a “nomadic astrophotographer” due to his location in Paris, Jean-Baptiste wowed the voters to win the competition and the prize of an Atik 16200.

Furthermore, we have seen the launch of a varied product range this year. This started with the launch of our new software, Dusk, which is an update of Artemis capture with improved auto guiding and auto focus. This was followed by the launch of our first ever small computer, the Atikbase, that can be mounted to your telescope to conveniently control cameras and other hardware from your portable devices. Finally, we finished the year by launching the upgrade to our first ever CMOS camera in the Horizon II.

Looking ahead

More exciting news is on the cards for 2020, as our CCD & CMOS camera range is set to expand further and our production team in Portugal are looking forward to moving to a state of the art new production facility in January.

As always we are truly thankful for your support in 2019 and hope that you enjoy the festive period and look ahead to another great year in 2020!
